Welcome to the wild and wacky world of our family. We wanted a way to share our goings on with the people that we love but we aren't able to be with as much as we would like. Enjoy the ride, it should be fun!

Crowded House at the winery tonight!!!
Woo hoo! Date night!!! We went to see Crowded House at the winery with some friends and it was a lot of fun. Good food, good friends, good music, and a few crazy New Zealanders make for a good time.

Impromptu pool party!
Today was a great day for a pool party. We called up the fam, asked them to come with suits in hand, and get ready to party party party.
Some were more eager than others to get in the water.
A day on the river
We decided that this would be a great day to get out on the river and see if we could follow the path the hot air balloon took the other night. We didn't get as far as we had hoped but it was a great morning nonetheless.

Eat, Pray, Love & Beer
Dada is headed off to brew beer while Baby Bubba, Nana, and I are having a date in Edmonds to check out the Farmers Market and have lunch.
Later in the evening Nana and I have a date night planned to go see the newly released movie Eat, Pray, Love. It's a good thing too because I couldn't seem to finish the book. Maybe after the movie... maybe.

Chris Isaak at the winery!!!
Tonight I got to have a date night with my sister. We took off to the winery to see Chris Isaak in concert and it was so much fun. It's not often we get to spend time talking without at least one kid or husband around, and never do we get that kind of luxury accompanied by a bottle of wine.
We first came to know him in 1989 when Wicked Game came out and we were on a summer vacation in Indiana. That song is the soundtrack that plays to those memories and it's hard to believe it was 21 years ago!

Blueberries!
We got word from a friend that one of the local U-Pick farms was about to open a lot of the Big Blues for picking so we headed out early to get our blueberry fix. Baby Bubba ate nearly as many as he picked and we joked they should have weighed him on the way in and then again on the way out so we could pay for the extra pounds he had consumed. It was hand over fist into the mouth with that kid. We ended up with 12 pounds of berries when all was said and done and they were wonderful! Great for cooking and eating, it just doesn't get any better than that.

9 Years & 1 Balloon Ride
It's hard to believe that 9 years ago we were getting married and starting that journey. Nine years and to celebrate it, Dada surprised me with a hot air balloon ride over the Snohomish Valley. We have talked about this for years but it just never happened, until tonight. It was amazing! We floated over the valley from the north to the south, watched the sun set in the west, and ended with a champagne supper. What a night!
We got home rather late to find Nana asleep on the couch. Sound asleep on the couch in fact. So sound asleep that we covered her up and she stayed the night. Early the next morning as she was leaving she yelled back to us 'I was [Baby Bubba]'s first sleepover' and then she disappeared down the street.
Two momentous events in one little evening.

Call the law!
We participated in the National Night Out this year and had everyone meet at our house. It was mostly a meet & greet to see who lived around us as well as to find out who would be interested in the Neighborhood Watch program being set up in our area. We were lucky enough to have two officers from the Sheriff's department come out and they each brought their own cars.
It was so much fun. They let all of the kids (young and old) get in the car, talk through the PA, run the sirens, run the lights, and climb in the back and get locked in. The neighbors that didn't come out to meet with us probably didn't appreciate it much but those of us that knew what was happening had a blast.

Tour de Terrace
In honor of this years Seafair, we decided to hit up the Tour de Terrace instead of heading into the city and fighting the crowds. It was a good decision too, we got to the fair early and it's wasn't that busy. The 1st booth we passed on the way to the rides was an airbrush tattoo place and Baby Bubba immediately chose the raccoon. Well, that and a skeleton hand which was quickly ruled out by yours truly.
We hit the rides, had some lunch, wandered around for a bit and headed back out. As we passed the tattoo booth he still wanted that raccoon so we gave in. He sat very still and followed all of the instructions and wore that thing with some serious pride.
That boy and his raccoons.
